Submission Guidelines

When it's your turn to write, here's what you need to know.

How to Submit

Simply send an email to [email protected]. You can reply directly to your selection notification or compose a new email.

  • • Your email subject line becomes the title of your post
  • • Your email body becomes the content
  • • You have 10 days to submit after being selected

What to Write

This is your moment to share something meaningful with the community. Write whatever feels authentic to you:

  • • A personal story or memory
  • • A thought or observation about life
  • • A question you've been pondering
  • • Something you've learned recently
  • • An experience that changed your perspective

The best posts are honest, personal, and give readers a glimpse into your world. Don't overthink it—just write from the heart.

What's Not Allowed

🚫 No Images or Links

For now, Daily People is text-only. Any images or links in your submission will be automatically filtered out. This keeps the focus on your words and ensures a consistent reading experience for everyone.

We also don't allow:

  • • Pure promotional content or advertisements (but you can talk about work you're proud of on a deep level)
  • • Spam or irrelevant content
  • • Hate speech or harassment
  • • Content that violates others' privacy

Review Process

Every submission is reviewed before being sent to the community. This ensures quality and keeps the experience positive for everyone.

If your submission is approved, you'll receive a confirmation email and your post will be scheduled to go out to all subscribers the next day at 8am PST.

If your submission is not approved, you'll receive feedback explaining why, and you'll have the opportunity to submit something else during your remaining submission window.

Tips for Great Posts

  • Be specific. Instead of "I had a good day," tell us what made it good.
  • Show, don't tell. Use details and examples to bring your story to life.
  • Keep it readable. Break up long paragraphs and use simple language.
  • Be yourself. Your unique voice is what makes your post interesting.
  • Respect the community. Write something you'd be happy to receive in your inbox.
